  • We will create an in-depth job description of your exact specifications to ensure the best placement.

  • All candidates will be experts in their field, eligible to work in the USA, and passed a thorough background check (see below for background check specifications).

  • All candidates will be pre-screened and come with a detailed description of qualifications/job history and list of references for you to review upon interviewing.

  • Consultation can be done in-home, by phone, or a NYC location of your choosing.

  • Continual support throughout the process including hiring advice, devising terms of contract for new hires, and 24/7 availability for any questions or concerns.

  • Additional 90 day replacement guarantee for contracted employee from the start date and continual support post placement, if needed.

How do you find qualified candidates for nanny positions? 

We hand-pick our nannies & staff from an elite group of professionals. Candidates are then put through a rigorous screening and interviewing process to ensure that each candidate meets our standards. 


How do you screen candidates?

Each of our nannies are subject to a rigorous screening process to ensure impeccable experience that meets our standards. Our process includes multilevel interviews, reference checks, background checks, and education verification to guarantee a candidate's integrity. 

We also provide social media checks to understand each candidate's personality and level of professionalism. 



Are the nannies agency employees or family employees?

Manhattan Nannies is a recruitment agency and we do not employ our nanny candidates. This means we assist families through the hiring process. Once a nanny is placed with a family, they are 100% the family’s employee.


How long does the hiring process take?

The hiring process timeline varies. It could take anywhere from a week to months depending on many factors. If a family is diligent about interviewing and knows exactly what they’re looking for in a candidate, this can directly speed up the process. Finding the best match for families and candidates is our priority. 


What does the process of hiring a nanny with us look like?

  1. Reach out to us at info@manhattannannies.com.

  2. We schedule a call where you tell us about your family and what the job entails. We will then prepare a job description.

  3. We will send you vetted nanny profiles and resumes that best fit the job opportunity. You choose the candidates you like best, and we will set up an interview.

  4. You interview the candidates until you find a nanny that matches your family’s specific needs.

  5. From there, we do trials with your chosen candidates, write up offer letters, and handle any negotiations. 

  6. A fee of 15% of the nanny’s starting annual gross salary (for a long-term placement) is due upon the end of the employee’s first day, and a fee of 30% of the nanny’s pay (for a short-term placement) will be due upon the end of the employee’s first day as well.



What are our agency fees? 

To begin, we require a $350 deposit. If we successfully place with you, we charge a one-time fee equal to 15% of the agreed-upon starting gross annual salary for long term placements and 30% for short term placements. The deposit will be credited toward the placement fee.


What benefits should I offer a nanny? (Standard and competitive benefits)

Standard benefits include guaranteed hours, two weeks of PTO, paid sick leave, and overtime. 

Competitive benefits include paid holidays, holiday bonuses, paid vacation, MetroCard, and health insurance. 


Do we offer a placement guarantee?

Should a placement cease to be employed with you for any reason within 90 days of the placement start date, we will offer a free replacement or credit of equal value toward a future placement. 


Do we offer permanent and short-term placements? 

Manhattan Nannies offers permanent placements and short-term placements of three months or more.
